Final Boss - Way too difficult
So I played the game at Easy mode and was able to enjoy it until the final boss.
This boss is waaaaay too difficult for me .. I know what to do but the spawning mobs are simply too many. If I focus on them, I don't hit the boss enough. If I focus on the boss, they overwhelm me ..
Balancing Overwatch, Reload, Heals ... etc is way too much.

What am I doing wrong? Any tips?

I'd say if you currently are using overwatch in this battle, then you are probably doing something wrong.

You'll have to be over-aggressive and get to the enemies as soon as they spawn and not wait for them to come into your overwatch trap. Kill them as soon as possible by being offensive (use chainsaw, grenades, bayonet, anything).

Have Mikaykla be skilled as Assassin (rather than Hunter, Hunter is best for regular missions but this fight is made for an Assassin) and let her focus on the boss exclusively (unless you can't do otherwise). If you give her stuff to add damage and/or critical damage, she'll shred that Hydra to bits in a few shots only thanks to Bullseye. She also is very accurate and can shoot from great distance so move around even if boss is on the other side of the room, you can still shoot him with her.

Your other soldiers should focus on trash mobs.

As long as you make sure that nobody is caught in the boss' scream on the Platforms, you'll be good.

Good Luck :steamhappy:

if you have a reset token for skills use it on the scout to get mines. mines have a seperate cooldown from grenades so you can plant it and kill them when they spawn. make sure gabe has empower and team work skills. and if possible make sure your sniper has high crit and damage or the skills for extra AP

Thanks. All this is in place already .. still max I could do was 2.5 health bars out of 3 .. there are just insanely too many spawns that distract you from the boss

There is a pattern to the Ukkon fight and you need to know where the endless enemy spawns come from.

When the Hydra is due to fire rockets, try to remain in the area where you can actually shoot it but out of the circles. When its due to scream, move to the side area where the enemy doesnt spawn. Only deal with the enemy spawns when the Hydra is not on your side. Never get caught in the scream blast as the cripple hurts your movement range massively for 2 turns.

Trying to deal with the enemies and the Hydra will just prolong things and make it difficult. It is a long battle no doubt. It took me a few tries to understand the pattern to know what to do when.

Give reyna the uir helmet and uir holsters with the pasive skill "utility belt" , also go for the commando ability tree, in the best case you are gonna have a granade every turn.

With Gabe go for the paragon ability tree so he can give AP for other turns, the empower and teamwork abilitys are op

With Mikayla go for the hunter ability tree

For Sid you can go whatever you want i go shock trooper and all the bayonet boosts

I pass the campain in insane with that team, sorry for my english it is not my first lenguage

alos if you place the sniper against the wall in the middle of the area you have the range to shoot the boss from both sides of the arena

Your advices worked guys.. I killed the final boss at last ..

Best tip was : Re-skill then Dedicate sniper for boss and let others handle the mobs

At first I was annoyed that I would have to bring Reyna to this fight instead of my Heavy, who did most of the damage to the first two bosses. But after I realized Reyna could have both a grenade and a proximity bomb every turn I stopped worrying about it. She could more or less take care of all the trash mobs on her side by herself.

For Gabe you have to have the Empower level 3, and the gear that cuts his cool downs. Basically every turn you can give Mikayla 2 extra shots, plus a 20% damage boost. Do that before she fires each turn.

For Sid give him the skill where if he executes a mob then it gives everyone else more turns.

There were several rounds where Mikayla could shoot 8 times, plus I would use Gabe's lock and load so she didn't have to waste a turn reloading, (it's annoying how fast fingers only works when a mob dies, instead of on a hit).

Make sure before the final fight that you use your re-skill tokens. A lot of the skills that worked great for churning your way through the game are pretty much useless in the final boss fight. And it's the same with the gear. Basically if the skill/gear doesn't work on bosses don't bring it, (except as noted above). For example I got rid of Mikayla's concussion skills, (which worked great on grenade launchers), and gave her the skills that give her +15 damage on first round in magazine, and +20% damage on last round in magazine. That was a WAY better use of those skill points for the boss fight.

One quick note is that in the pre-fight I managed to snag a grenade launcher. Those 2 shots did a TON of damage to the boss. I'm glad I didn't waste them on trash mobs.

Also don't bother with overwatch on this fight. I think I only used it 2 or 3 times when all the trash mobs were dead & I couldn't get a shot at the boss. Don't wait for trash mobs to come to you aggressively go to them. At the rate they keep spawning they will overwhelm you if you don't.

Just did it 5 minutes ago.
But, man, that one was a tough one. They should nerf the spawning mobs.

Strange, how easy Boss-fight 1 + 2 feels, when you`ve done the Hydra :-)
