Thank you for answering. I'm Kurdish and sick and tired of this government/country who truly doesn't represent me in the slightest, making decisions on behalf of me.
Kurdish broooooo!

*high five*

Are you able to get someone who lives outside of your region to gift it to you? That's how I got things that were banned when I was living in the Middle East: I'd just PayPal a friend the money and they'd send it as a gift (it only worked one way though and I couldn't gift back due to the regional restrictions). Otherwise, your best bet is maybe through key selling sites.

This has nothing to do with countries banning this or any other games.

It's not available for purchase in said countries because the publisher decided not to sell it there. For whatever reason. It's a decision made by the publisher.

That makes sense indeed. I suppose it's related to the LGBTQ theme in any case, as Grounded, Ori or Fable from the same editor aren't banned in these countries.

2021 and yet countries still ban LGBTQ games because some people feel very uncomfortable with the liberty of the others. Sad, sad world. I wish you the best.

Other than China, I wonder what all those countries have in common. *thunk.gif*

Yo, my Kurd dude!

I have no idea, this is free game for a month so i think gifts would not be in the realm of possibility.

gifts are still not working in these countries. as a malaysian i can confirm and even though i don't condone homosexuality , these countries probably need a more open view and broader perspective on those topics. not selling / gifting it in these countries is a missed opportunity by Microsoft.

I saw this was free on reddit and when I clicked to get it, got simply redirected to steam main page. Its interesting to find out that the publisher never made this available in Turkey. There is no ban on games here, like I've never ever seen one. Last of Us 2 sold pretty good iirc. Like the OP its frustrating to see repercussions even though you never voted for certain people.

Free content doesnt cross over the world's regeons. Just like a DVD pucrhased from Russia it has a different regeon code and wont play in my country Australia unless I have universal regeon free DVD player.
Applies to digital purchases and free game installs.
Its about ownership and preventing piracy. You know money it is a business after all. Steam has the same rurles.

I can't say anything about China and Russia but i can say this, Turkey has no law against releasing this game. You might think "Microsoft released the game then China and Russia banned it" it might be the case on those countries i don't know. But in Turkey, government didn't ban this game, Microsoft banned itself. We can access all other LGBT+ tagged games unlike this one. Microsoft gives away the game because of prime month but they simply don't care any LGBT+ people on some countries.

Russian government didn't ban this game either. It's Microfost (or developers) decision.

Dude relax. Turkey didn't banned this game. Turkey didn't made a decision on your behalf. MICROSOFT DID A DECISION IN BEHALF OF 13 COUNTRIES AND SCREWED US OVER : D
(Big letters are for highlighting the tragic comedy and not an expression of anger. This note is written in order to prevent misunderstandings)

Hell, Turkey doesn't even have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ infrastructure to regulate games right now LMAO :D because they don't care about games.

You are right. However having a broader perspective or not should not have prevented microsoft. For example, Turkey doesn't even care about game regaletions. Microsoft could have easily released the game. So regardless of perspectives I think I can directly blame microsoft in this one. Their fear was absolutely for nothing.
