It was 20-30 mins that had nothing to do with the plot or story, you could claim "character development" but Michael is hardly a side character, I don't care about him at all, he has no hooks in the main plot at all.
As for this being a "subtle approach" it's about as subtle as being hit by a truck.
And haven't these 2 litraly only had 2 convesations? Seems a little forced.
I agree, I think if Tyler and Michael DO become a couple, it'll be offscreen and just hinted to before the game ends.
I still wonder why this game is only 3 epsiodes, Is it because this is all they really wanted to tell us or do they plan on a sequel already?
Their interactions don't feel forced to me, compared to other games.
I will admit that Micheal doesn't have much involvement in the story, I think the section in the store was also just about letting loose for a bit and having fun to distract from the detective work, kinda like EP3 of LIS with Chloe and Max in the pool.
Agreed. Maybe Tyler can choose to join his group or not.
Fare point, but with those two they are on their crazy story together with a strong relationship, this to me just falls flat, LiS also had 5 episodes so had more room for downtime away from the plot, TMW does not.
Calling the scene forced maybe was abit too harsh of a word, out of place, fits better.
Michael on the other had, slow your rollers mate, Ive only spoken to you once and your cooking me meals? Michael be suffering from a strong case of the thirst.
As for the scene being forced, I'm not sure if it's just me, but I also got the impression that they also added the relationship to cause/show some tension between Tyler and Alyson and their relationship. A few times she seemed to be jealous of their interest in each other, or at least I thought I picked up on that.
I thought the scene done very well and did show that Michael was a bit too keen. I loved that you (playing as Tyler) could nuance the choices and also simply say hey, you know I'm still figuring myself out and just being able to move on from it.
And I'm actually happy with that, I'm happy the story is about the family mystery most of the time. I see two twins back at their family home having stumbled on some nasty skeletons in the cupboard, it's part of what makes them feel so normal and real.
The plushie fight was fun and a nice bit of downtime from all the mystery and tension, especially between Alyson and Tyler. I think Tyler's wanting to know everything is coming up against Alyson's wanting to move on, it's a nice dynamic in the game and feels natural.
Yeah whoa there Michael, next you'll be looking for a cosy place to rent :-)
