AKS74U vs PPsH-41

Hello I have a dilemma:
I have recently started playing and have reached enough money to be able to buy an AKS74U or a PPsH-41, in your opinion which one is better to buy? (PVE)
At the moment they have about the same value on the market, I can't buy them with credit points yet, I will do it in the future and then resell them but I need a better weapon at the moment, having already the Mosin Nagant I point on a weapon with a high dps like one of those two.

I would probably choose a PPsH with a 71 round drum mag for PVE to start. You will have more bullets in the magazine and the gun has high penetration so you can kill most enemies in Liubech Outlands.

Both are good starting guns.

Viror, First off a PPsH is worth less than a baby AK by at least 100k. Magazines are cheaper for AK. I’m not sure about maintenance. Secondly the AKS74u packs a bigger punch and you won’t burn through as much ammo as a PPsH. Ammo is a price vs weight vs damage argument. But the PPsH is usually preferred for spiders and smaller mutants. Either way they are both a big upgrade from the Mosin, which is really a waste of money in my opinion.

So, ammo for AK cost more, but I use less of them than PPhS so in the end it costs less to maintain?
And about the penetration, I have seen that the ammunition for AK has a greater penetration, but on the weapon info the AKS74U has a Low penetration value while the PPsH has a medium value, which of the two do I have to take more into consideration?

Viror, ammo and maintenance are 2 separate things. With ammo you have to balance the right bullet for the right target with the reward that you get to keep buying more ammo. With maintenance... more you shoot the more you spend on a tech to clean it. I don’t know which one is cheaper to maintain.

Penetration: go by the bullet/shell’s statistics that you’re using. But also remember that higher penetration usually means lower damage. High pen is good for armored targets like verlioks and players w/body armor. Cheaper ammo is best for unarmored targets like dogs, spiders, etc. A PPsH is great PvE but not PvP. For PvP an AKS74u is not great, not terrible.

I think I'll opt for AK, I don't do PvP but I think AK can be used longer due to the greater penetration, even against more armored mobs in the future.

PPsh to shoot at mutants aksu to shoot at players! Shoot single at mutants otherwise you just waste ammo !

As a starter gun I prefer the PPSH but for your money the AK might be a better choice. The mags are cheaper. You can get 4 Ak mags for the price of a PPSH mag. I wouldnt worry to much about the price of ammo, if you are collecting mutant parts, it will offset the price plus some.

The aksu will allow you to go further with that weapon, it allows taking down harder targets, including players, that usually end up needing higher penetration. additionally the aksu will become a trade item as they are used for personal credits later on.

Once you have a better cash flow you can pick up the ppsh if you need it.

I would go for the AKSU `cause you can have additions like silencer up to 60 bullet mag or scope.

you cant attach a scope to the aksu unfortunately. at least not in this version.

Ah, thats a pity!
So muzzle/silencer, butpad and bigger mags are possible so far.
