Deal with Alien Hate?
I've had the aliens constantly destroy my stations for the last few months. I haven't touched the servants for a while, I am below 120 MC with 2 of the MC hate reducing techs, and I haven't killed or touched any alien councilors or fleets. Are they just stuck on eternal war as its 2034? (playing on normal as Resistance)

I hate to say it but there's a mod in STEAM WORKSHOP that lets you decrease Alien hate. It's a cheat menu that lets you run a project to lower detection by aliens 33% each time you run it. Just be aware that its accumulative so after say 3 runs you will be 99% invisible. It's possible to wipe out the aliens without them retaliating which is probably no fun. I only use cheats as training wheels to learn how to play. Once I figure out the game mechanics I stop using them.

I discovered (I'm at 2040 now) that after around 2030 the alien hate meter never resets anymore and keeps rising until they attack and then resets itself. The more resets the faster it rises until eventually you either have a fleet that drives them back or you start a new game, I actually provoked the aliens in my prior game to attack me at 2027. I hardly had a space presence - I was playing the Academy - and focused exclusively on the other factions. I wiped the floor with the Servants and the aliens sent a fleet of 4 destroyers blew up the ISS and parked in LEO. Every time I sent something into orbit they destroyed it. So it was game over for me.

I looked in my save file and despite it saying they only have 21 hate for me the meter shows as all 5 squares (not all red) and they keep on destroying bases over and over.

At this point I'm going to just mass produce my nuclear torpedo and phased green laser fleet so I can get ring habs up long enough to get research going again. I am getting sick of rebuilding base after base after base and all that happens is that more attacks come and the meter never goes down even if I do nothing against the aliens.

You say 'last few months'. That sounds like you're maybe underestimating the time frame for things to settle back down...

On the order of doing not much for years, and then having tens of MC of platforms and outposts blown up.

Congratulations.

You discovered how the Alien Hate mechanic works.

When you were cosplaying as Humanity First, at any time when you were wiping the floor with the Servants that this might, possibly, annoy the aliens, and that they might retaliate for this ?
