Jupiter rush in 0.4.52
Has anyone tried rushing jupiter on the current experimental patch? From my experience the earliest date i can arrive on Callisto is late 2026/early 2027 and I think that it's far too late compared to early-mid 2025 on the "normal" version, especially as the aliens already colonize jupiter mid 2024 and asteroid belt by the end of the same year.

I've tried 3 times already and i can reliably get frag drive mid 2024 and industrialization of space in november(which's cost has been increased from 10k to 15k i think) but arrival on callisto would require at least 2 or 3 ships with marines to deal with the station and outpost not to mention something to deal with the alien frigate that appears early/mid 2025.

I'm asking cause unless i'm doing something terribly wrong this streategy seems to be no longer viable and i'll have to come to terms with the fact that devs want me to suffer the mid/late game slog and I have to preapare for the " Long War".

Depending on place of their main base, so RNG. In my game they arrived here in 2025 and were basically too late.

They're VERY aggressive now once you're here but ironically it trivialize the game. Because they're sending everything but colony ship on me - their new bases are lacking any fleet & I managed to snipe Titan from them in 2027. :steamhappy:

P.S. Honestly it's disappointing to see how Pavonis is fighting against players having a fun with their games. Jupiter rush always was a luck & skill based, deceleration burn interception they had banned recently - was both realistic & very micro-intensive so not for everyone.

With the current improvements to alien AI and changes under the latest patch Jupiter rush is harder and even more "getting lucky" than before. You have to rely on not getting hit with a bad event, the aliens not getting there as early as they can or attacking you, even more precise control of globals. You should look at the current discussion in the Jupiter rush thread on the discord.

Do I really have to remind, again, that you can do the Jupiter Rush with missile Escorts in 2026 (or even in 2025) if you for some reason can't be there before aliens earlier? There is not much luck involved.

What do you mean by that - I tested it as recently as post-0.4.47 and it worked.

In my tests on 0.4.52 game (both started & played on it) - my few attempt to use old-good Hellicon-driven Escorts to intercept incoming transports had failed.

But honestly I did not completed a proper testing just a few intercepts that failed.

Still finding bugs with interception :steamhappy:
My Pegasus-driven Escorts "failed to intercept" incoming surveillance ship, while they were capable to casually outrun ayys and arrive at station it tried to attack (as they have higher cruise acceleration and 11+ dV).

Yes, interceptions became more buggy recently (I am preparing a bug report about being unable to establish any interception trajectory from a high asteroid orbit to a ship moving within the low asteroid orbit while using an antimatter drive on a small ship :) ) but I don't think it's the result of Devs banning the deceleration burn interceptions (I may be wrong here).

Considering that orbital defenses are almost useless against doom blobs of the aliens, i dont see the point of rushing jupiter until you can actually defend it. Usually on my runs I rush ceres and mars and turtle there until i am ready.

Yep. You have to be ready to pop out a missile defensive fleet almost immediately now. That's why I keep pointing to the discord thread about it. Jupiter rush isn't completely dead, but it's on life support. If you aren't there by 2024 it just isn't happening, not as a true rush.

a) The missiles are answer on your question. You can get techs for a tier-0 missile Escort ~around arrival on Jupiter. After that you're doing a rush to Shaped nukes - the most efficient weapon in the game and aliens are done.

b) Main trick of the rush that you would NOT see "doom blobs of the aliens". Instead all their ships would be thrown into your Jupiter/Saturn grinder.
