Is Breaking Up the USA Worth It?

It's 2042 and my 5-control-point USA is tumbling down economically and cohesively. Is it worth breaking it up (maintaining a federation, if possible)? I have enough control point capacity for the task.

I doubt breaking it up will help, all the problems plaguing it now will still be there and instead of 1 angry country acting violently you'll end up with multiple angry countries acting violently.

I fixed it, everything is in the green. 36% economy, 4% welfare, 17% knowledge, 12% military (only counting relevant stats)

Be careful about using too much knowledge though, once you hit Government 10 or Knowledge 10, your population growth will drop. And remember, the amounts you are throwing in are investments, not processing material, so it is completely safe to put knowledge to 0, you will still get your research points.

Breaking up the USA is the ethical thing to do, even without the problems evidently plaguing it in your game. Do it. You know you want to.

I've personally found that knowledge is best set to zero in all countries. Humanities research will be conducted in the stars.... earth is there to manufacture things and make babies to manufacture more things and die in pointless wars.
