How do you stop aliens from landing?

It is the only thing thats ending my games. I can defend space assets, but the alien landing just ruins my game. It is either loose your countries or nuke yourself into a loosing spiral since you loose so much income on all resources when you nuke yourself. Is there any tech that can prevent the landings?

I cant even hunt down their carriers because they just delta V away even tho I'm faster...

Nope - the key is the United States Military - or having high miltech and several armies that have ships. I have 14, 8 USA, 6 EU. However, the worst part of alien invasions, is the stupid diplomacy, where you have to wait up to 2 weeks, just to DOW the country, so they let you cross their borders to defend THEM from aliens!! I you dont get to them in 30 days, its a lot harder...but still can be done. Also, put your high CMD guy on advise while fighting, it helps. I dont think you are supposed to stop the aliens from ever landing, besides finally being able to have a perimeter around earth, and able to blow up anything they send at you.
