Ship officers
This is new to the recent changes, and needs some tweaking, a panel of it's own. On that panel we get to see the officers, their stats, and what ships they are on. There should be a way to move the officers to other ships once I decide to scrap the ones that they are on.

It's a new feature that will evolve an get fleshed out. Some of the things you suggest here I've already seen discussed. I'm sure they'd welcome any thoughts or suggestions you have, and you'd probably get far more feedback on the discord.

That feature would be insanely OP. I'm already seeing a few ways to abuse it to make super-fleets.

How so? You still have to fight and survive to advance. They also said difficulty of the combat matters, so you ca't take an OP fleet and seal club to advancement.

"Difficulty" is calculated via fleet power. So:
a) Make a dedicated design with a low-power yet very powerful in combat (zero non-frontal armor, zero combat speed so you're relying on deep space interception).
b) Won a few battles
c) Pick only the best officers (like direct weapon or medical officer) and move them on your final ship design.
d) Result: broken OP fleet.

This is a single player game, so you are saying we can have a reasonable feature because you might be able to game the system? That doesn't seem the correct way to balance a single player game. If you game the system, the only player you hurt is yourself.
