Also, figuring out good ways to turboannex federations and being a lot less scared to just conquer things rather than going the slow diplomatic way because I want to be a "nice guy" will speed things up too.
I agree with Ericus1 about focusing on space with the combat anti alien factions, if you do not take the fight to them early, you will be bogged down for years on end.
If you stop the ayys from ever landing on Earth, you don't need most of the mil-projects. You can ignore about 90% of the engines and drives. You don't need to research the weapons techs, e.g. any of the 20 different missiles, if you only ever plan on using one of them. There is so much you can just ignore if you want to take the fight to the aliens early, like latish 2020s, and really beeline.
0.40 will reduce/streamline some of the tech tree to reduce the cruft, but it's still probably a ways off.
[edit] By the way, the Devs have nerfed a lot of the early exploits the past 18 months or so. A lot of Perun's strategies from Fall 2022 don't have the payoff that they used to.
You don´t need to go to space for the win, with Servants :D
All other factions you need much more effort to win the game.
