What is the proper abort for fleet intercept?

When my fleet tries to intercept an alien craft in earth orbit and the fleet enters sol orbit to go to a random base, I'm presented with a choice. I dont know which one to choose to abort the intercept and to keep going to the original point in space. Tired of my only Earth defense fleet spending 5 weeks going into a random Solar orbit and lose all delta-V to return.
