Techs refusing to unlock for all factions?
So about five years ago in my current run, I unlocked UV lasers. A year after that I got arc lasers and Phasers, but no UV laser past the normal ones ever unlocked

I am aware that the game rolls to see whether or not a specific project will unlock each time a technology is researched. However I find it a bit suspicious that no laser whatsoever unlocked here that was associated with either technology, and that beyond that no rival faction has had any related project unlock either.

Has anyone had a similar thing happen in their run? Did you ever find a way to fix this?

Alternatively, does someone know the values I need to modify to have these projects unlock in-game?

Thanks for reading!

I had this same problem. Different research order though I don't remember the specifics. Couldn't find a fix. Some projects seem to have very, very low trigger chance?

you can steal projects to get the ones your missing. each faction will get different projects. you wont get all projects in the research all the time.

This is 'intended'. Not everyone can research everything straight away.
This forces you to steal projects from other factions. Very late-game there are 'future tech' projects you can run repeatedly to reroll missing techs (although realistically it'll be much too late by then)

I do wish there was more information in game on how this worked.
Only know that 'contributing more' to globalxtech ups my odds of getting a faction project unlocked by the tech faster(but what is the difference between 0%, 10, 50, 90%?) What about projects that need more than one tech?

Heh. And how we played games without access to Internet? Playtesting!

Honestly. Game already have great Codex and provide tons and tons of information to you. I guess players get used to cheap mobile games >_<

I got advanced physics 4 times hoping for a re-roll on Antimatter engines, still haven't got them, just spending 100,000's of science and get literally nothing out of it. Very frustrating.

The codex is an incredibly poor excuse for a manual.

In-game documentation can do the job. The Terra Invicta codex doesn't. It's got a decent selection of entries, but places that need a page of details have two sentences of handwaving.

More precise, please. Because you could play game absolutely fine without for example knowing a real formula for Cohesion - in game tooltips mention all important factors.

Not totally. For example the Codex says that Advise improves the Financial ability of the country but it is only until you read the ingame action text do you know that "Financial" is not only econ investment but increases ALL IP. This has rather important in game applications and is only found in 1 place and that place is not the codex.

Being the primary contributor pretty much guarantees you get faction project techs you want.

Yes, spoiled on mobile games like CK 2 and 3. You know, games(well ck 3 at least) actually decent 'codex' type deals.

Don't get me wrong, I love that they have a codex, and I'm looking forward to the day out of early access when it is (hopefully) almost a full on wiki with all the information and numbers I could want...

We also back in the does of no(or just dial up) internet, usually didn't have access to literally ever game in the world, you played the ♥♥♥♥ out of one game at a time, even if they weren't good, because you didn't have another you hand't already played to death and past.

This game is great so far, I want to understand it better, and there is so much going on, I wouldn't complain if I didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about it, hell, most of what it needs is better information available to us, and a polished interface.

I can look past a lot of rough edges to play the game, that doesn't mean I won't complain about things that need to be fixed or explained better, because once thats handled, it will just be great, instead of great with lots of rough edges.

Easy. Several years of playing into Dwarf Fortress and Aurora4X :)

Advice own tooltip is precise AFAIK. So it's EA issues - some things'd changed from Alpha and devs don't updated it. That's fine while they're often realeasing new patches.
