Change in the movement of capitals?
I have not played since the last patch, and I have the impression that the unification of the world is no longer possible, I hope I am wrong.

I moved the capital of Bolivia to Kourou (in order to be able to absorb the South American union into the European union later) but when I start the reunification of South America I don't understand why the capital is moved from Kourou to La Paz.
I tried two ways: Peruvian union conceding territories to Bolivia and Peruvian union unifying with Bolivia, and in both cases the capital is moved from Kourou to La Paz.

Did anyone have this problem too? Does anyone have a solution?

I hope they will implement a normal world unification.
I mean why shouldn't a world unification happen when we enter the space age?
It is not unrealistic although yeah likely it will take 1000 years in reality.

That's why I suggested you to check the comment section, not a guide itself.
It contains the hint to how you can enable previous capital city behaviour.

In face of the potential humanity extinction threat from aliens it might speed up some processes. Either we unite or go away in an all-out nuclear war.

For those folks who don't want to go to those comments and figure out what's going on:

As of the 3.35 patch capitals 'snap back' to their previous location if you capture that territory. Which means in practice there are certain territories that you cannot unite with that union because you would then change the capital to that territory. La Paz is an example, and as a result if you're wanting to unify most of SA with something else you'll need to leave Bolivia out of it.

It's annoying and makes things significantly more tedious. In particular the Gala guide to doing Big India doesn't work any more and you have to do a lot of weirdness with Indonesia, Malaysia, China and the Caliphate. You can still do most of it, but it's much harder now.

Thank you very much for your clarification.

I'll wait a bit before I start again, it was already quite complicated to unify the world before.
