Only complaint: Malicious RNG
I spent years to boost a 55% chance to get USA territory.

CRITICAL FAIL 99% roll

I do a land grab in another country. 97% success

Fails.

Look guys this isn't funny. Some folks are just bitter about old malicious XCOM RNG.

The chance of you failing both those rolls is 1.35%, or roughly once every 74 times you try it. In a game that has thousands of rolls you're going to miss a lot, even when the chances sound high

well xcom..you fail RNG you likely die
but here mostly nothing happens and I believe it is meant to be done repeated. Best attack with more than one agent. Even a 10% change isn't so bad if you do 10 attacks,

There’s an achievement if you fail with 99% odds of success. :steamhappy:

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up 98%

I DIDNT EVEN GET THAT
My favorite so far is "Success Chance: 93.999%. Roll: 94.000%."
Don't forget that some councillors might be double agents and auto fail below a certain threshold.

Gentlemen there is a red spy in the base!

With the hundred of rolls you make in this game, you really notice all the 90+% rolls you fail. However if you make enough rolls those will fail from time to time. I find it harder to swallow when it's 2 or 3 in short period of time.

The cognitive bias for rolls when you roll a lot of dice is pretty massive and it's likely that this is what is going on here. Add the double agent mechanic and I can understand why people are upset even if the game works exactly as intended and there is no cheating behind the scenes.

I managed to take out alien landing ships 3/4 times with 8% chance each, randomness cuts both ways

No-one complains when it goes their way though

I did and no one was a double agent.

I could use really some nation guides.

I mean. I took America and fortified it, and SERVANTS TOOK A CONTROL POINT ANYWAY

You cannot tell me the game doesnt cheat when it comes to AI. It is faster, more successful and simply faster to get orgs and countries.

Edit: has its reasons

The rolls are also affected by lots of things. Its not intuitive. You would think chance is calculated by different factors and the rolls are random.
They are not. The rolls are also affected by factors, they are NOT random.

Like when I was trying to take a country with 91% success chance and I rolled 95+ 7 times in a row due to no popularity. Then did campaigns until I got 55% and voila, rolled below 50 3 times in a row on crackdown and took the shaite.

I have seen this all over the place, the rolls are NOT random.

no need to lie to us, this is not the only complaint >;3
Antix Oct 29, 2022 @ 10:35pm
got a roll where the Success Chance was 98.99%, and I rolled exactly 99.

I also had one that was a success where the chance was: 50.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
And I rolled.
50.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
