Conquer the Entire World - Is It Possible?
Hello all.

In my game, i already have 3 megablocs formed (Eurasian Union with all Europe, Great Astronesia and the big Ivory Coast), and i am looking to form the Big Caliphate.
I am trying to merge them all to free some CPs, but there is no claim between these regions to do it (afaik).

So, i wonder if it is possible to conquer the entire world without claims. Are there other mechanisms for joining countries inside big blocs, like war and coups?

It would be nice to join the entire south america, but i don't know how to do it, and i dont see any research to do it.

Besides that, is there something that i can do to remove or diminish the spoil rate of a nation? Right now, i want to fix the big Ivory Coast economy, but it has 80% spoil rate that is hurting my efforts. Even with direct investments the spoil rate dont change.

Thanks in advance.

No, claims are the only way to join countries into a meganation. Except in Asia, there's one per continent (the project to unify all of South America is called South American Union), so you can reduce the world to about eight nations.

But I don't think it's a good idea. If you leave the other factions with few options, they'll be knocking on your door every turn.

I think it's possible to unify the whole planet into about 6 nations total. North America and Central America into one, South America into another, Europe and and the Russian regions, I think Africa and the Caliphate's regions can be combined into one with the right techs and correct sequence of unifications, and China SouthernAsia Indonesia Japan North/South Korea and even Australia/New Zealand can possibly be combined into one super nation after an absolute ton of research and a long and specific sequence of unifications, oh and you also have India pretty much all by itself (cause India's a special snowflake like that).

The trick is that as long as you can gain claims on other nations capital regions, then you can claim everything those nations have unified with as long as the capital stays the same after unification. For instance, Australia has a claim on New Zealand, and with the right techs Indonesia (capital in Jakarta region) can claim Australia's capital region and gain New Zealand along with it using unififcation. Southern Asia can be unified with the capital in Bangkok, and can then claim the Jakarta region with all that comes with it. In turn China can claim the Bangkok region and all that comes with that (and also Japan and Korea), theoretically resulting in a massive super nation that spans several different regions/continents of the globe.

I am pretty sure that is what the Iniative is trying to do. I am getting dangerous close to messaging the world nations and demanding....

You can make it into 6 nations, but...
I just united British Commonwealth (with Australia & everyone) with European Union... and wanted to Unite EUs (pun intended)...
But Europe has 0 (ZERO!) Cohesion now, so I don't think it's a good idea anymore.

Thing is, you lose -1 Cohesion for every *region* you country has, and places like Europe and Russia have so many smallest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ regions. Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/TerraInvicta/comments/xxk9sv/i_decompiled_the_game_and_looked_at_the_math/
Basically, countries like Armenia are killing it.
So, unless you want to suffer, it's not advised.

Doesn't that post also say that you can pretty easily offset that by rivaling/warring with people? Besides, even if you have to spend some effort each month on unity priority, it's still better to gain all of those country's resources than let the AI waste them. And the best way to control a majority of the planet is through unifying regions into larger ones cause they're just generally easier to take care of that way (like being more resilient to being taken over, advise, defend control point missions, etc.). The only real reason you should keep countries small and apart is if you want to build up their stats before unifying for defense. I'd say it's well worth the trouble in the end.

*checks post again* Also, sorry to nitpick, but it seems it's -0.25 cohesion for each additional region above 1, not -1. So not quite as bad as one might think anyways.
