Does age Matter?

I am in 2043, one of my starting units is 72, in retrospect this means he started at like 53 so I maybe should have worried about that long before now when I put a bunch of orgs onto him.

Is he going to just keel over from a random event at some point? Or are there other risks I need to look out for?
If so what is the age to start worrying about such thing

There is life extension technology in the genetics research tree the first research gives +10 life and the second gives more probably +10 as well. There's an achievement as well for one of your agents dying of old age
