Indonesia get Greater Indonesia and you can claim :
Micronesia- Malaysia - Philippines - Singapore
United Malay gives
Malaysia - Indonesia - Singapore
Korea gets north + south korea
Greater Thailand get claims on
Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos - Myanmar
China auto gets Unification with Taiwan,
but you can also research Liberation of China to get Taiwan as the Main Ruler (its a better alternative, as it liberates Xinjiang/Tibet when you do, so they lose their "colony" status and you can then reabsorb them with "Pan-Asian Combine" and
so you can do Intermediate Nations
As in fusion
1- most of the ocean side south Asian nations together with Malay/Indo techs
2- Fusion most of the Terrestrial ones with Thailand Tech
3- Fusion basically everything in Asia with Pan-Asian Combine.
If i were you i'd keep Japan and Korea out and let them as Command Point/Investment nations and not fuse them to Pan Asian. so your Main Pan Asian combine can focus on Military/science/Economy
you need tons of command points later on. and with your Asian power house near you can defend fairly easy by sending armies.
Unification should be one of the last things on your list, tho; there's so many other priorities
Even though it would suck with how badly IP scales
You might think "oh, my giant state will be invincible against crackdowns and coups". Maybe, but you know what it won't be invincible against? Mind control.
Giant states are a huge liability if an alien gets into them because once they take a point with mind control, now you're the one who can't crackdown to get that point back.
Honestly, I would just stay away from Great Nations in general for this reason unless your council has really high science and you feel lucky.
greater india and maybe republic of china. or perhaps leave india be and go east asia.
Countries like Japan and Korea(+North) are very good. They have decent investment points. And you can focus them at doing only one thing but do it better than anyone.
You could make one country pump boost early and switch to command control later. Command being super useful around mid to late game. And boost is critical early game.
You could make Japan pop 3 armies + navies and just pump their militech to have an invincible small army you can send anywhere.
But countries like Cambodia/Laos/thai/Malaysia/Philippines are not very useful on their own. So for those you could research thai+Malay expansions tech and make a country almost as big as China. Which you can then focus.. Again. On a single purposes. Like 3pip funding + 1 pip spoil and just stabilize the region. But forget about military as the south Asia is ages behind.... You can't really catch up to other countries.
But combined with say that military Japan. You could defend the south Asia if you needed to.
Strong countries are better off alone than combined in most cases. And you need to really focus them at 50%+ total investment into a single role.
