How do AI factions get control points so easily?
I'm experimenting early games as I learn. I always have ridiculously low % to Take Control of a cp in pick a country-Canada, France, Italy, Japan, India, Russia, etc.

The AI has apparently no trouble right at the start. What am I missing?

Are you using agents with high persuasion to do public campaigns and take control?

i have just seen the last episode on youtube of monsters...... lp ..
he had big eu and russia in 2035 with 80% public opinion AND DEFENDED points

the servant/aliens just took them in an single round ..... they didnt even need to crackdown before purging it ...... it made him quit the episide early after it happened 2nd time

my seeing this realy ruins ym funn cause im on 2029 and not far till the same ♥♥♥♥ cheat will ruin my game

Aliens don't play by the same rules, but the regular orgs do.

Also, when your entire council is at 25 adm you can even take a big nation, abandon it, and watch as the AI doesn't even try to take any of the points there because there's just no chance.

I've had the USA abandoned for a year before anyone really tried to crack it.

Specially if you just leave that nation producing unity all the time, so that you also get a massive defense boost from public opinion and cohesion.

I also don't even bother using defend assets on my China or India, nobody can touch them anyway.

When you have mind control.... who cares about defended points...

It's the start of the game. A decent diplomat or politician with 7 or 8 Persuasion and 4% shot at pick a country. Meanwhile the AI factions just go right in. It's way too early for public campaigns to make that much difference. I. Talking early October and they're taking over. Maybe the ai just goes for poor odds and gets "lucky" while I fail 3 times in a row at 81% trying for a cp in Pakistan...

If you're talking about the very first few turns, that's probably because of the random initial public opinion.

Once you choose the control nation mission, your chances in each country are shown on the map. Go where you already have good opinion (or run public campaigns where you don't).

Early game indeed has quite a bit of variation when it comes to starting support, especially the academy starts with a lot, which is good, because they need it. 50% starting support makes a huge difference.

About OP servants, the alien agents have spooky overpowered mind control hax, but they cant actually use it if they are dead, imprisoned or don't manage to land in the first place.

Yes, the other factor is that there are 7 times more of them than you, so the outstanding results stand out but in reality, I've seen the AI splatter itself over CPs that I even abandoned and pre-cracked down for them. The AI gets outstanding results because with 7 times the manpower, something usually gives way.

Its not a cheat its superior technology...

If you have a councilor or 2 with 25 Investigation and you have xeno labs in orbit you will see those pesky aliens....

If you have a councilor with 25 Espionage you can kill those pesky alien's though don't kill too many too fast or you could face some bad retribution...

The Youtuber you watched was a panzy for rage quiting fyi and maybe he should have learned how to recover from his set back....

Its easy Use Public Campaign Mission...
On Low population targets like Canada its very effective...
Once you get canada now you border the USA and have an extra boost to getting the USA as an example
Maybe you still find the USA too hard to get...
then Take Mexico and make your odd's even easier....

OK started a new game. My highest public opinion was 28% for Turkmenistan and down from there. Above me on the nation list were dozens of strong and mediocre countries with opinions in an even spread of numbers going up to 70%.

And don't rely on passive defenses. Past initial years - your goal is to lock two enemy factions semi-completely by using double agent and assassins (btw if you're going to do this with servants - remember that aliens are watching!).

As you go through the story, more Codex entries will be unlocked. One of them goes into a fair amount of detail about exactly what the aliens are doing. They don’t use the same missions as you; they have mind control.

You´ve a traitor in your ranks. Ever turned an enemy councilor? And the AI does it too.
I'm gonna guess some alien something. Remember this is primarily a game about aliens.
