Aliens don't want me around Jupiter

The aliens really don't like me going to Jupiter. Every station I try to set up in Jupiter orbit gets destroyed. Now I'm trying one at a Sun-Jupiter Lagrange point.

Any suggestions how I can get them to stop attacking? Other than to KILL THEM ALL! (which I would much prefer)

One or more ships with outpost/platform equipped - need to be able to withstand an attack or two

Yeah. I learned Jupiter was off-limits the hard way. In hindsight, I'm not sure if I was just ignoring the aggro bar, but it still triggers them either way.

Do they keep attacking or do they stop once Jupiter is scrubbed down?

Yeah I think I'm running before I can walk.... I only have one gunship so far, so I need to build the navy.

Once my probes get there will I have more luck with bases? Or will they get destroyed while building just the same?

Where is this aggro bar? :)

"Aliens" tab under the Intel window (the button with the cyber-head guy). Think you need a tech to unlock it

Ah right that would explain it. All I see on that screen is and array of 5 diamond shapes next to 'alien threat level'

Regarding Jupiter: just stay away until you have a strong and fast fleet. Then go there.
There is no rush.
I made the same experience: come too close to the bases of aliens and they will crush you in an instant. And its logical. I would do the same, too.

Yeah, the outer planets are kind of "their territory".

Jupiter is a start of end-game (as it only stable source of antimatter in Solar System). So you need a fleet here.
