I´ve had some horribly uneven starts, with vast swathes of the Earth favouring a single faction. I find myself restarting in the hopes of getting a more balanced starting setup.
Totally agree with the starting councillors too. I found I kept getting a scientist and some other councillor, often with a litany of bad traits.
I get that Pavonis is coming from Xcom, where the RNJesus was a running meme, but the whole game wasn´t decided by it. Combat hit chance was.
Here, it´s like everything is decided by RNG. It´s too much, especially as the uneven and out of balance RNG outcomes begin to stack, the issue is compounded.
After researching global techs, that unlock engineering projects, I find myself waiting for months on end for some of those engineering projects to materialise, at the whim of RNJesus, wasting time researching repeatables, only to have a bunch suddenly become available at once.
I feel like the devs are trying to recreate the spontaneous and unexpected combat experience from Xcom, in a grand strategy title and it isn´t working for me.
Infact, it´s frustrating as all get out.
