You are ahead of me, but I was assuming they could construct ships?

If they can't then it's back to the drawing board for me again!

Should cut down on build time in its system.
May cut down on boost cost (depending on materials available in system)

Docks build ships.

Construction modules build habs.

Construction modules are able to build habs (both on the ground and in space) on-site instead of needing to launch them from Earth. They also speed up construction of other modules.

ah so basically on construction module on Luna will make further hubs cheaper?
So it doesnt make more building slots etc on site, its just like a "ship yard"?

hab yard.
Shipyards are shipyards

No, it makes further hubs and modules ON LUNA cheaper and faster. It is a CONSTRUCTION MODULE, not a shipyard or dock. You want ships? Use a shipyard or naval dock, construction is just that, construction, not assembly. And you need one per planetary area since it builds locally, though it does help in sending habs further out since you don't need to ship from Earth.

Put one in orbit around Mars while you're waiting for your probe to arrive. Once it's up and running, you can slap down mining outposts in 30 days each instead of a year.

By the time i unlock construction habs, they're not really needed anymore to get bases up.

Building a hab module in the SOI of a body where you have no construction module means it has to come from earth, which takes longer. If you have a construction module then it will only take 30 days for most things, plus founding new habs or stations also only takes 30 days.
The catch is the t1 module only builds t1 modules. If you want to build t2 things you still need to send then from earth. You have to set up a nanoforge for t2 construction and a t3 for t3 construction.

Docks build ships.

Construction modules build habs.
Silly me. I thought docks were just for refuelling and rearming. I've had one sitting there unused. On the other hand, I don't have the mats for a ship yet anyway

Docks are also used for refueling and rearming as are depots.

Dont know dudes
I got one module on Luna
and now EVERYWHERE i want to build tier 1 modules it takes only 30 days
Asteroids, Mars, elsewhere
I got 4 hubs on mars, and no construction modules, and same for bunch of asteroids, once hub is arrived your build time only 30 days
Im not sure how long it would take to build T1 module "In space" on mars
Cuz im already had CM on Luna
Please let me know how long it takes for you to build T1 on any space body without CM

You don't need a CM for tier 1 modules to take 30 days, you just need to have the resources available in space instead of needing to boost from Earth. (This is silly, but it is how the game goes.)

But can you build a new outpost in 30 days? That is the question.
