Problem unifying malaysia with greater indonesia

I unified malaysia with greater indonesia which consisted of indonesia, singapore, and the southern cross with malaysia as the base country. However the new malaysia ends up splitting off the southern cross and the australian breakaway country of westphalia. When I do unify them again with malaysia it crashes the game at the end of day.

Reason why I want to use malaysia as the base in the unification with indonesia is because then I could unify malaysia with the pansasian federation since they have a claim on the malaysian capital but not that of the indonesian one I think. Anyone else had this problem with countries splitting off when unifying and then crashing the game once they unified again?
