Are techs that update the codex not working?

Or i guess better side things dont seem to get added to the codex

It worked for me playing as the Academy.

Be aware that the alien mission list is an entire different list than the normal mission list.

probably you are not looking properly, it worked in demo and works now.

Oh I am looking in the Codex of the ESC menu? is there any other codex? doesnt seem to be an alien category

Click on the eagle symbol top left corner if you are playing Resistance, that's the Codex.

Either that or the three dots next to your org's symbol.

Scroll a bit down, in the "Missions" category, first is "Surveillance", second is "Mission List", and there should be a third one once you unlock it, "Alien Missions List".
