If you do that to various females in towns, nearby males who hear you will step in, to step up for them and want to fight you. It can of course (over time) negatively effect your honor level as well.
Sometimes in your Gang Camp it doesn't always work, or perhaps bugged sometimes. Many times I was able to antagonize Micah and no one, not even he, punched me and/or threw me out of camp for doing so.
Also you can trigger this by NPCs in order ways too. For example if I go into a town and take up my Lasso Rope and use it a couple times (aiming up in the air and letting it go a few times without using it on anyone) some people getting mad and run off. It was a trick I would use from time to time in order to get certain NPCs I wanted to rob, to start running off, then I'd chase them and maybe antagonize a little. Once they are well away from others I'd tackle them and use the Rob option. Then let them go, then hog-tie them up and use the Loot option to get off them what they might have refused to hand over during the initial robbing. It's one away to rob folks without being a total hot-head and killing everyone.
