try searching "rockstar" keyword in your email inbox

I don't have access to my old email so that won't work unfortunately.

If you did not link the two manually from your SocialClub account via their website; then it would be the day you first launched RDR2 on Steam. As the link would have happened during that day automatically.

I'm here after spending 3 whole days on this. DO NOT CONTACT THE WEB TICKETS. They will ask for the exact dates of when those accounts were linked and that questions will get you shut down EVERY SINGLE TIME without failure. You need to go to the game itself on the support page and find a way to get them to call you. You should see a different option at the bottom saying "call back in 10 mins" rather than "web ticket 24 hours". But you will need a email that is not connected to rockstar so you will have 2 accounts now. The one that you have access to and the one that you previously didn't have access to that was linked to your steam. So one account that was lost is now found again but is still linked with steam.
For example, for me I made a new rockstar account and bought GTA 4 and GTA trilogy. Then I bought max payne 3 and red dead 2 on steam but steam is attached to very very old account. They will connect very old account to a email that is not connected to steam so that way you have access. So now I have one account with gta 4 and gta trilogy, and I have on account connected to steam with max payne 3 and red dead 2.
NOTE: I have 2 emails. i changed my current rockstar account email to the one that I use LEAST. old account got put on email I use MOST since it has the NEWER games. since I already beat gta 4 and trilogy, I didn't mind putting them on the email I use LEAST.

Then you're out of luck. Email confirmations are the only way.

Ensure you keep track of email accounts and passwords. Pen and Paper and then storing that in safe place is the safest way.

If you are logged into Steam, ensure the account you log onto via a 3rd party Launcher pertains to your Steam in case of need of linking the two.

If you share your gaming PC or other device with family/friends then do not allow your various clients and launchers to save your login.

If you go to the directory in C:\Program Files (x86), make sure it's the x86 directory and open it. Right Click on the "Rockstar Games" Directory and pick properties.
It should show the date your original Rockstar Games was created. This is how I found mine.

Not exactly proof since that could be removed/wiped and installed again later on

I'd be looking at earliest dates on achievements, games, platforms you have access too in relation to R* games (including mp3, lanoire, gta5 - and using their intro achievements). Only you would know if you downloaded/installed/had issues or not and launched/linked on the first day. I also wouldn't confuse the dd:mm:yy - mm:dd:yy in case the robot on the other end doesn't swap them as a check. TBH - if you owned gta5 - I would be attempting to account recovery via that vs rdr2 - since you have an actual cd key you can also toss at them.

edit - of course you can just make a new social club and unlink/relink - but you're very likely to lose your online progress, and access to other games - like gta5. *poof* gone.

Yo I was locked out of my Rdr2 (old email was associated with social club account) .

I went to the Rockstar website , created a new profile and opened a ticket there . I had my account back the next day . All I had to do was provide a picture of the game in my steam library and the digital receipt . Hope this helps.

I gave them all that proof but they just closed my ticket without even doing anything or saying anything

Steam support doesn't help at all. They did literally nothing other than saying "not our problem, bye, go away" (except in 1000 wordcustomer support speech)

Rockstar support pretty much forced me to dox myself to prove that this is my steam account. And after all of that they were like "Yeah we've decided we're not sure, bye"

1. Screenshots of my email confirmation of the purchase
2. Screenshots of me being logged into steam
3. Date of purchase

I also sent them log files of the launcher, proving exactly when I accessed it, and that i was accessed from my computer

The worst part is that Steam told me even if I delete the game from my Steam accoutn and then buy it back, I will still not be able to play

Honestly the evenings wasted on this are not worth what I paid for the game. ♥♥♥♥, I would pay them whatever they want if they can just do their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jobs

Like take my money and let me play. I'll gladly take the financial loss from your incompetence. It's my fault for doing business with you. But NO, I they're not even letting me do that

Steam.Support can only help with Steam.account, purchase, refund.

They can't help with any 3rd party stuff. Such as Rockstar SocialClub

If you have requested a date, then you need to go to your account's purchase history and see when you bought Max Payne 3 or gta 5. The date of purchase will be the registration date.

That depends how long ago you bought it. Those did not require Steam linking until around 2018-2020 or so. I know it was not a thing before approx that time period. MP3 and GTA5 did not even have or rely on this newer Rockstar Launcher until RDR2 came to PC.
