For example, for me I made a new rockstar account and bought GTA 4 and GTA trilogy. Then I bought max payne 3 and red dead 2 on steam but steam is attached to very very old account. They will connect very old account to a email that is not connected to steam so that way you have access. So now I have one account with gta 4 and gta trilogy, and I have on account connected to steam with max payne 3 and red dead 2.
NOTE: I have 2 emails. i changed my current rockstar account email to the one that I use LEAST. old account got put on email I use MOST since it has the NEWER games. since I already beat gta 4 and trilogy, I didn't mind putting them on the email I use LEAST.
Then you're out of luck. Email confirmations are the only way.
Ensure you keep track of email accounts and passwords. Pen and Paper and then storing that in safe place is the safest way.
If you are logged into Steam, ensure the account you log onto via a 3rd party Launcher pertains to your Steam in case of need of linking the two.
If you share your gaming PC or other device with family/friends then do not allow your various clients and launchers to save your login.
It should show the date your original Rockstar Games was created. This is how I found mine.
Not exactly proof since that could be removed/wiped and installed again later on
edit - of course you can just make a new social club and unlink/relink - but you're very likely to lose your online progress, and access to other games - like gta5. *poof* gone.
I went to the Rockstar website , created a new profile and opened a ticket there . I had my account back the next day . All I had to do was provide a picture of the game in my steam library and the digital receipt . Hope this helps.
Steam support doesn't help at all. They did literally nothing other than saying "not our problem, bye, go away" (except in 1000 wordcustomer support speech)
Rockstar support pretty much forced me to dox myself to prove that this is my steam account. And after all of that they were like "Yeah we've decided we're not sure, bye"
1. Screenshots of my email confirmation of the purchase
2. Screenshots of me being logged into steam
3. Date of purchase
I also sent them log files of the launcher, proving exactly when I accessed it, and that i was accessed from my computer
The worst part is that Steam told me even if I delete the game from my Steam accoutn and then buy it back, I will still not be able to play
Honestly the evenings wasted on this are not worth what I paid for the game. ♥♥♥♥, I would pay them whatever they want if they can just do their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jobs
Like take my money and let me play. I'll gladly take the financial loss from your incompetence. It's my fault for doing business with you. But NO, I they're not even letting me do that
They can't help with any 3rd party stuff. Such as Rockstar SocialClub
That depends how long ago you bought it. Those did not require Steam linking until around 2018-2020 or so. I know it was not a thing before approx that time period. MP3 and GTA5 did not even have or rely on this newer Rockstar Launcher until RDR2 came to PC.
