we couldn't sign you in automatically, please login manually
It has been a while since i played the game, but now that i want to i get the following message
"we couldn't sign you in automatically, please login manually using .... "
the problem is the e mail shown in the asterixes isn't my email, when i want to use my rockstar account it doesn't alow it, i don't remember that account, could it be an automatic one? or have i been hacked?
i already removed the game (there goes my story line :') ) and removed all the rockstar game files.
how can i continue playing the game ??

I have the same issue.. Bought RDR2 game on Steam and not being able te play, because the "Rock star"account is blocked.. I made a new account but it keeps saying I need to login using the 1st account.. #the_future_of_gaming Edit: I got my money back for RDR2, but GTA V I will probably never be able te play again. I had 77 hour into it.

I can't login to my Rockstar or Social Club account to play the game in story mode on Steam. Whenever I've tried, Rockstar's website keeps saying my e-mail and/or password is invalid. It is the only e-mail and password I've ever used, and I can't even login to delete my account and set up a new one. I did click on the "settings" button, however and I saw that they have me listed as an online player. I've never played online, only just story mode. I could't even submit a support ticket to tell them what my problem was because I kept getting redirected to the support page where you can't do anything except look up what other people have posted about, that didn't really fit my problem. This is frustrating because I hadn't played the game here on Steam in a long time, and I couldn't find any help here. I think I can still play on XBOX though, so will do that until I can figure out what to do to get the game to work on Steam. I also tried to play through the Nvidia Geforce website, but the game would't optimize, even though I tried several times, and I ended up hiding the game there. If anyone can help me, I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Search your emails for Rockstar or social club. You may have gotten email stating email on account was changed. This email may be in another language. Translate, there is a link to recover. Some users had 'new' accounts made with their old emails. The recovery link may not work saying the email is already in use (or even the link has since expired...). You need to log into that new/useless account, change the email to another, then the recovery email should work. You cannot just 'make a new social club account' if a social club account has already been linked to steam.

Can also try spamming the forgot password link and checking your emails in case you've cleaned up, they rotted, you forgot about an account, etc -

Otherwise - can you log into the social club website with those credentials? Does it properly show your social club account, games, progression, linked steam account? You can do this to see 'if' you are actually trying to log into the correct account - or into the bogus/'new' one. If you DO NOT SEE your steam account on the linked accounts page - you are 'using the right email' but it is tied to the 'wrong account'.

You may even need to try this multiple times depending on the agent you get.
Do NOT use an email address you do not have access to for these tickets -.-

Or find one of the many threads with info/video about -possible- recovery emails/method.
(they are all over for rdr2/gtav.... for the last 2-3 months)

Many reasons to have -other- login issues- possible workaround/fixes being vpn, other internet access, dns/isp/connectivity errors, browser problems, av/sec interference, server issues, cycling modem/router, renaming my docs / rockstar games to -old to test, uninstalling/cleaning both r* launcher/social club etc.. (so much more etc).


As for the inevitable 'unlinking' questions - you have gta5, which is a single use, non-transferable cd key - 'permanently' tying the first social club account linked to the steam account. One could guess/assume that this is true for all/most R* games on steam. Unlinking is basically throwing all those keys away. This is the info they give - read it twice, or more. Especially the 'note'.

i'm having the same problem with both red dead and gtav sent a ticket in to rockstar. that email is it this by any chance ( m**********u.bk.ru )

I can't get in to L. A. Noire either. Rockstar e-mailed me to send them in some screenshots to them. The e-mail address that I sent the request to is: support@rockstargames.com. Not sure where the e-mail address you're asking about is coming from.

thats the email that social club is asking me to sign in with prob is thats not my email

I don't know. I'm in the process of sending them some screenshots of game purchase information they asked for and will have to wait and see what they reply after I send in the screenshots. I'm going to try tomorrow and see if I can play RDR2 on my XBOX or not, also. Over the weekend, they sent me an e-mail to verify that it was me that tried to sign in to play the game on Rockstar Launcher/Social Club. I replied that it was me, and now they're asking for screenshots of my game purchase information, which is what I;m trying to sent them now.

yeah same here tho thankfully my xbox ver of red dead 2 is on a different account all together so hopefully that won't be affected but now i think about it i'll check it and make sure

Decided not to send the screenshots because they are asking for a "Steam ID64" number on the screenshots which doesn't appear on any of them. Seems like a scam. Other people having the same problem.

It isn't a scam. That is the number that defines your steam account.
