no gameplay diversity to missions.

rdr2 suffers from the same problem other rockstar games are suffering from, the ones that came out after their old GTA games and that is lack of being able to complete missions exactly how you want. there is very little room for experimentation in their latter games and now in rdr2 they reduced player agency to a minimum. it is now about following a set path, rails where you are not able to move away from them and mission would fail if you do. this brings gameplay diversity down by a lot and it's a problem for a huge portion of gamers.
