What is up with Red Dead Redemption 2 graphic settings?

Hi,

I bought rdr2 on PC because I loved the game so much on console and I now have a good PC that can run it quite well.

Never have I encountered a game that made me face so many issues. Firstly, it's the only game to tell me drivers are not up to date even though everything has been triple checked and is up to date. Secondly, and most importantly, I CANNOT, for the life of me, understand how I'm supposed to change the graphic settings. When I change a value and have the absolute misfortune of clicking anywhere else, I have to confirm the changes, which I do, AND IT DOES NOT SAVE THEM. I went up and changed all the settings to my desired taste, it didn't save them. I decide to let it aside for now, go to sleep, next day I retry and now the changes seem to have applied but are not, I ask 1440p, remains at 1080p, I change the resolution again, click on bordeless, it goes back to 1080p.

I have never felt the urge to slap the **** out of something as much I want to slap the devs responsible for that horse****. Oh and for a time it would just tell my memory is saturated, even though it'd be at 50% usage. Looked up online and had to manually lock a file to "read only".

Anyone faced the same issues and could help me?

My specs:
Ryzen 5 7600x
Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB
32gb DDR5
1Tb SSD
LG 27" OLED 1440p
In case it changes anything : DP port instead of HMDI
Driver & software version: 24.12.1

I already disabled my integrated GPU. Yes, I'm connected to my GPU DP port. Yes I've restarted. Yes I've checked on AMD Adrenalin if I was up to date. Yes I've downloaded all the drivers again to make sure. Yes my BIOS is up to date.

I have the exact same CPU and GPU specs and I am having the exact same problems. Same RAM, similar monitor. I changed the graphics specs to what I want, saved and uninstalled. Will reinstall tomorrow and try again. I think it’s a rockstar issue and I’m going to reach out to them as well. Thanks for calling attention to this!

got this on sale as a friend recommended it to me and having these same issues. i dont even want to try testing anymore bc my playtime is at an hour now and already want to refund lmao- i can barely get past the first fight in gameplay before a crash IF im lucky (even crashes when i go to change settings which like you said dont even save). guess i'll just wait if there's a fix and if not either gonna wait for a sale on console or just give up the idea of playing this lol.
