Game is on sale, I figured I'd buy it.

Curious myself. Thinking about buying, but not if I have to go through a 3rd party.
It tells you on the store page if a game requires such a thing. In this case, yes.

No one asked if there was "such a thing". OP asked if it had been removed, and it's a valid question that wouldn't necessarily have been answered by any info on the store page. Steam isn't exactly Johnny on the Spot in keeping the players informed about this kind of thing.

I believe you still need a 3rd party account.
(Rockstar Social Club Account)

it's not a valid question when the store page quite literally says:

"Requires 3rd-Party Account: Rockstar Games

And if it had been removed and not updated? Who would be the most logical people to ask then?

Try some critical thinking before getting in over your head, kid.

Yes it would be answered. People just like the OP are the reason there's an entire section dedicated on each store page for that information. So that people can go there and get the information they want. Its a really simple process really.

And if it had been removed and the store page not updated?

Jesus. Is school out or something? Reading comprehension is at an all time low.

"Nonsense"? Say it to EA, Blizzard, Ubisoft, Sony and others :)
STEAM is a digital marketplace for many developers.
It will not be removed, because it depends of *R network.

Huh? The question OP asked was literally answered. "Has this nonsense been removed." The store page tells you if it requires a 3rd party account. Not sure how you think I didn't answer the question. I do admit I did say "In this case, yes." which could of been taken the wrong way. Regardless, the store tells you. Look on the right side below where it tells you if the game has achievements and what not. You'll see. Getting so upset over nothing.

so i have a rockstar account, and GTA games, I buy RDR2 on steam on sale, install it and launch it, then when i sign into rockstar it said i do not own this game.

i had this issue at first. I quit out of the game entirely and then launched it again and it prompted me to link my Rockstar and Steam accounts. Worked fine after that.

So, these two last messages make the most sense to me. It sounds like not only a 3rd party account is required, but account linking is also required.
Thanks, no sale.

Same here. I'm not buying potential headaches, even if they're on sale.

Who's upset? I didn't say the question was never answered. I said the info on the store page is potentially unreliable.

Where would be the best place to get the actual information if that were the case?

Here, by asking the people who are playing the game right now. Does this make sense to anyone? Do I need to dumb it down further?
