Rockstar launcher
Just an update, rockstar launcher is still broken so many people cannot play, still objectively makes your pc chug harder then the game itself, and the only real update made to this game was to fix the easy workaround for using the launcher. I would rather not play the game then give this company money and still need to download something to get rid of the launcher.

Game is amazing, launcher is hot garbage. After I pay you money for a product, why do i have to compromise my email and personal information to play a game I've already paid for? So upsetting. As much as I love this game... I'm uninstalling, my last Rock-star game EVER! These games aren't made by people passionate about good gaming, but a corporate hack into you bank account and personal information. SHAME on you Rock-star.

You have the game, either play it, or don't.

You could even have refunded it.

For most of us it works perfectly fine.

The launcher doesn't do anything that puts any extra strain on your PC; such as CPU, drive activity or GPU. Sure it will use a little bit of RAM, but if you have that as your problem; you have all sorts of other problems at hand.

Because it has it's own in-game features and stats tracking via the SocialClub system. It's how Rockstar games have always been. Again I don't know what to say, you must be new to Rockstar games, period.
Unplayable lol, new pc 3060ti 17 12gen, clean installation and i can't open the game, trash...

Launch Steam Client and Rockstar Launcher via Run As Admin

Launch RDR2 from Rockstar Launcher, not Steam.

Before you do, change the following...

Go to game folder, go to Properties for PlayRDR2.exe and RDR2.exe and apply the Disable Full Screen Optimization option.

Click StartMenu or press WINKEY, type Graphics, click Graphics Settings.
Click Browse and add PlayRDR2.exe and RDR2.exe to this list; change their Options to High Performance GPU
I did refund, thats how bad the launcher is, im also refusing to buy ubisoft titles (the recent state of far cry nonwithstanding) until they remove the launcher. "How its always been" is not an excuse for "horrible, anti consumer, almost no benefit to anybody and a detriment to most" the amount of people who care about stat tracking is negligible especially considering that steam has better stat tracking for most people, social club features can be done better using steam, additionally having less things be forced to be running is ALWAYS good.
I would be happy as a clam if i could launch the game without the launcher but it bothered me whenever I started the game, but instead they force it to be through the launcher in my single player game that should by all rights be available offline, and even patched the easy workaround! force me to use the launcher for online play, great, I get it, but not for single player.
I want steam to put up a big, highlighted, "THIS GAME REQUIRES AN EXTERNAL LAUNCHER" banner on all the games that use this garbage, or just make a policy that future games cannot have external launchers so I don't waste my time downloading and refunding them but since I find that extremely unlikely I think many people appreciate seeing reviews that include this information and threads talking about it so they can avoid purchasing.

So what does it do when you attempt to launch the game?

Did you install the latest Launcher from Rockstar website, log into the launcher and also during sign-in, tick boxes for Remember Me + Auto

In admin mode i open the game with R* launcher, i click on "Play on Steam" (obv i have the game on Steam) then a black screen, the game open and appear the usual loading bar and the game close.

I installed today RDRII so the game install automatically the launcher, i sign, tick the auto-sign (remember me is auto)
