Questions from a beginner (RDO)
Hi,
I have a few noob questions regarding RDR2 Online:

1) Is that true that RDO is full of cheaters? Is the game still worth playing?
2) Is it normal, that from time to time while in game, I randomly step on some kind of trap and I die being torn to piece by some kind of explosive? Or is this some kind of cheat?
3) Is there any other place beside of a stable to buy a brush for a horse? This stable glitch is annoying.
4) What are consequences of being killed by other player? What are the consequences for that player and for me?
5) Is everything in the game available for ingame money or are there things available ONLY with real life currency?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

#1 - yes, online can be full of modders/griefers that cause all kinds of problems, but if you avoid public lobbies it can be a lot of fun. This group has recently set up a private/invite only lobby that's a lot of fun, you can join by invite/password and it's griefer-free, just leave a request in this thread and they'll eventually send you an invitation:

#2 - No, a modder was screwing with you: see #1 above.

#3 - Not that I know of unfortunately.

#4 - nothing as far as I've seen, other than your honor goes down a bit, aggression/hostility goes up a bit, haven't done much pvp myself, so maybe someone has a more informed answer on this one.

#5 - everything is purchased with in-game cash and/or gold, but you can buy gold bars with real $ if you don't feel like grinding endlessly for them.

Good luck, the game really is a lot of fun when you get to play with a group that helps each other, and no griefers ;)

ps: never open random chests online in public sessions, modders leave legendary animals and chests full of gold laying around sometimes, and opening them may actually get you banned instead.

The stable bug can be overcome by making your horse flee from off the mini map before entering the stable on foot. When done shopping you will still leave the stable on your horse.

By following the instructions in the video below you can create your own private lobby that will allow you to explore the world and all it has to offer without being molested by griefers.

To return to a public lobby just move the file to another location like desktop.
