If don't want to re-download the entire game, you can just go to the install folder and delete every file that is not a .rpf file. Then verify the integrity of the game files. Steam will only need to download like 500MB after verification.

Just remove the mods; why is this hard?
Modding didn't mess with original game files.

Because ♥♥♥♥♥♥, some mods edit files, or INIs, or change game values.

They do not change the original game files. Just move or delete all mod files out of the game folder. It's that simple.

When you are done that you can check for modified/damaged game files by using the Verify option in the game properties in Steam

If you had saved games where you were using mods. You want to backup those or delete them because with all the mods removed those saved games most likely now will not work.

Yes I have approx 40GB of mods. None of the original game files get touched in any way.

I was just stating that if you feel the need to verify, you can use that option. It will save you a ton of time. No need to wipe out entire game and redownload it all again. That's just dumb.
