"Hold Tab to open weapon wheel" can't walk anywhere

I am playing on Story. We killed Driscoll's gang. Retrieve the money from the fireplace. Took the shotgun. I couldn't move anywhere except turning around or crouching. In the wheel menu I was able to change the shotgun from slugs to shells. Able to change to other weapons. But outside the wheel menu I couldn't walk anywhere to leave. That stupid message just stayed "Hold Tab to open weapon wheel". The keyboard/mouse controls on this game are horrible.

I exited without saving. I haven't been able to find anywhere that I could manually save, so that I could load the save, and hopefully not be stuck. So, it takes me back to the start of the quest at the campfire. I don't want to redo this quest.

I guess that means I am done with RDR2. Am I the only one who doesn't like the way this game works? I wanted to like it.

it wants you to maintain the shotgun, either you gota glitch not allowing you to do that. or you weren't paying attention.

You're supposed to press middle mouse button once wheel is open to get to the weapon maintenance view. I guess the tooltips must have bugged.

read what it's actually saying.

you picked up the shotgun, now it's saying that the gun is in poor condition and to maintain it you have to open the weapon wheel and hold down on it while pressing the middle mouse button to maintain it.

it's a tutorial mission showing you how to clean newly found guns.

it only shows the pop up once btw, it's not bugged you just most likely missed the moment where you had to read what you need to do.

remember you can always check your objective by pressing alt on knm.
