Why can we not have Dutch's treasure in Beaver Hollow as John?

Title basically says it. I've taken the honor version helping John, not getting the money in RDR-Mission. As far as I remember either Arthur, Abigail, or John's got the key last. So why is it not accesible?

If you mean in the epilogue, I'd assume Dutch went back for it at some point after the heat died down. Either that or it was discovered by the Pinkertons, in which case it's long gone.

Or it could have been found by some random scavenger that happened by it. Heck, the Murfrees could be using those dollars as toilet paper for all we know.

you get what is left of it after beating the epilogue, that's why.

it's no longer there after they leave the cave, so going back there 7 years later wouldn't make much sense as there would be nothing in it.
