It'll be on your mini map.
That's where I was. I tried talking to Pearson with the deer on my shoulder, but it was just the usual greeting and nothing special happened. Now that I'm thinking about it, could have had something to do with it being late at night?
You can have two chickens/turkeys/rabbits on your horses saddle and a larger animal like a deer on its back and you should still be able to donate all three animals to Pearson, if you have an additional "donkey horse" that you've tamed that too can carry an additional larger animal that can be donated to Pearson.
If you still can't donate to Pearson then verify your game files via Steam.
Okay, maybe that's what it was. I'm supposed to leave it on my horse and then talk to him. I'll try that the next time I go hunting. I was able to stock the camp by donating to the donation box after skinning it, so Dutch is at least happy now. lmao
You have to approach Pearsons worktable, then you get a prompt to donate.
If you enter that prompt, Pearson comes near and you can donate for food and/or for camp-funds. When you donate an entire animal carcass, it counts as meat for food but also as value in fur, claws etc..
You can carry a carcass to the table, if you like and donate with it from your shoulders
(I always do, keeps the immersion for me) or leave it on your nearby horse and donate everything "out of your horse" like a corpse or furs, but either way you have to approach Pearsons table.
Yeah that's what I did. I walked all around the butcher table and even talked to Pearson himself with it on my shoulder because that's more immersive for me too. I had the option to donate from my satchel, but if I had the buck on my shoulder the prompts were greyed out. It was also like 3 in the morning too but I'm going to try doing it from my horse the next time and see if it lets me.
Unless you want a specific three star animal for an upgrade don't bother searching for it.
Pearson and the camp are only concerned with being fed.
There's no such thing as one star meat or three star meat, you will receive exactly the same honour bonus for a poor quality carcass or a high quality carcass,
