Freezing During Fleeting Joy
Recently got back into RDR2 during the whole Nvidia oopsies and updated to their hotfix a couple days ago, which fixed the error.

Up until today my rig has run the game fine and I've not had any errors since the most recent driver update. Now my game keeps freezing during the mission Fleeting Joy. It froze once while following Sadie to the next house as I pulled out the pistol, and the rest has consistently frozen shortly after getting on the gatling gun. Explosives going off does not seem to cause it directly.

I've double-checked the drivers, rebooted my PC, run file verification, tried running the mission on the lowest graphics settings, and I'm not sure what else to do at this point.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you for the version number! A bit late at night here, so something to try in the morning. :)

Thank you so much for this suggestion, that did the trick!
Even better, when all was said and done, my panther pelt was still on my horse! :D
Too bad I still can't turn it in yet tho. lol
You didnt have to update anything, still using two years old NVIDIA driver and game works fine. Just hit cancel and continue loading.

Game Ready drivers known to worst type of drivers for a long time.

This is true only some of the time - anyone remember the Minecraft-pocolypse Nvidia caused a few years ago?

It's still generally a good practice to keep things updated tho. The way Nvidia is set up is great because it just downloads the driver and waits for me to choose when to install it. Just so happens this time it negatively affected a game I wanted to play at the time.

Im glad it worked for you. Its working for me. i will probably finish the game in a few days, over 100 hours in it now. Stick with that driver until youre finished with the game. I will upgrade to the newest one after I finish.
