(rdr2 is not on 3.8.10) few people will know about how to update to the latest dlss, and few of them will report here if they test it with rdr2 I didn't know about 3.8.10 release though so i'll give it a go, but I don't normally use it with rdr2 though as older dlss'es have weird issues with hair and fur in this game

Get the dll from techpowerup website, unzip then copy to root folder of RDR2 when it asks hit change overwrite. It is actually simple to do.

Some people on reddit say it is better than previous version and %100 better than AMD FSR 2.2.

DLL is signed by NVIDIA itself, it isn't some random dll lying around, so game recognizes as official dll which is so ban is highly unlikely.

well the problem is, the DLSS version in RDR2 is 2.5 which is fundamentally different to 3 and above. and the game has anti cheat so i wouldn't fiddle around with dll files unless r* would say they allow it. Battlefield 2042 for example recently allowed people to change the DLSS dll but rockstar is quiet about it.
Why is there now no DLSS option in the settings?

There is no consequence to updating the DLL file with RDR2. Many people have done this already, including myself.
