and i would def recommend to switch off the auto-save and better do hardsaves instead
ofc youll get charges you're an Outlaw and everybody has guns too so better to watch out when ramming even by accident to someone (i've learned the hard way) and then dead and losing all of your progress as well.
PS, tip when doing some felonies use a mask that covers all over your face (not the bandit one) the one that looks like black plague mask
Even if an NPC did see me and run to town and report me what are they really going to be looking for? A white guy on a horse? That's literally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everybody.
When you have killed somebody with your horse, then you might have been too fast or too clumsy - no pun intended, but a horse has about a thousand pounds, you can imagine what happens when bumping into a pedestrian.
To be careful, even as an outlaw, is mandatory ;-)
Riding is a bit of an art form in my humble opinion.. but once you've got the hang of it, you can do cool things in this game. Practise. Let people in front of you cross, wait until the path is clear.
Do not forget: some of those folks know about you being a very bad guy (people talk) and even the slightest miss-step can get you in trouble.
And don't forget: if something happens (and you have not killed somebody yet) you can always "defuse" the situation: on controller - as far as I remember now in the back of my brains - target the victim with LT for dialogue and then press 'X' to 'apologise', so they might forgive you.
Other than that is to take it like you would in real life: be aware of your surroundings!
Do not be frustrated: soon you will smoothe through everything. This game can be played way more relaxed than most people know, no need to hurry, take your time, enjoy!
no pun intended, ever ;-)
