Tried this last week. Worked.
I use this one, it works great, and my family and I can play on the same private session.
Yes, They work fine. Only thing you cant do is the posse and events.

With your own Private Online Session there will be no Hackers or Cheaters or even Griefers so you can play the game on your own or with friends that you know or just do stuff alone if you want to.
You can play your own Private Session with out having to deal with cheating or hackers or people that just wan't to pick on you for fun.
Use it or not it's up to you to decide.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keep in mind that this is not Software that needs to be executed or installed, It is just a startup.meta file were you can setup your own Password & play alone in Online Mode.
Make sure to not make the password that a kid could solve rather easy.
It works in RDO but it's rather dumb and doesn't help much.
By the time you run around to get some stuff done, people start entering your session.
Use the method where you put the startup.meta in your game folder. At the bottom of the text within that file you set a password. If you and friends use this same method and password, you will end up in same private session together. Cheaters/Modders won't be entering your session.
It's the only way to play RDO. Public sessions are simply not an option. As you'll more then likely get banned playing in those.
I choose meta.file because today all i do in public sessions is jump from session to session avoiding cheaters.
If game owner company left players, we must protect our sessions. Rock star don't give a...
We have no choice because Rock Star LEFT us and BETRAYED us!
Unfortunately it is third party software. I don't see native location of meta.file in data directory, native directory only shows errorcodes file.
When you put third party file in game directory, means you installing this software.
Difference is that this is text file which "tells" the game how to react in process of connecting to lobby.
Game sees that meta file has password and follows instructions and when doesn't see matches in connection, it creates unique session with your data in meta.file
No password means game free to drop you randomly.
Small explanation, please let me be a nerd for a moment)
I'll start using this meta file tomorrow and will keep community in course.
cheers mate
