RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 BUG
Hello guys.

I've been really wanting to play RDR2 but I keep running into the same issue over and over again. I can link a video to show you what happens, But basically I'm mid mission and the interactions just bug out and stop working and some textures randomly go to ultra low quality, Then I press "Pause" at the end to go look into my options and its just that grey and black screen. No idea why this is happening. I am launching from the rock star launcher also.

i7 13700k
RTX 4080
32GB RAM DRR5
850w PSU
Win 10 pro

If anyone knows how to fix, it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I have the same bug, but I don't have hyper treading enabled
Hey,

The issue seems come from the processor (Gen 13 & 14 of Intel) and how the game is made.
We have too much core, their is a gap between how work a quad core and a 20x core.

Some people are undervolting the proc in the bios, change "SVID Behavior" to "Intel's fail safe", but on my case it works* to reset by default the motherboard settings (they use to put the XMP or manual max perf on some configurations).

(*: I still have the issue but after +5h of playing, it's less stressfull).

If that work for you too, i recommend to spam the Rockstar support. They have to patch their game and all we have it's an IT service provider looping on itself with process that not allowing new issue. The IT team lvl 2 had full access to the problem and we we're close to the question "Have you tried shutting down and restarting the computer?" :csgoskull:

fixed this by disabling any CPU overclocks entirely, and disabling CPU hyper threading in the BIOS aswell. Also in nvidia control panel i set physx processor to my GPU and set my openGL rendering GPU to my graphics card. After this everything worked fine, seemed to be the cpu taking a too heavy load by not letting the gpu prioritize video rendering.
I fixed it by unplugging any other monitors, lock the FPS to 60 instead of 120 and turn XMP off.
