RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 BUG
Hello guys.

I've been really wanting to play RDR2 but I keep running into the same issue over and over again. I can link a video to show you what happens, But basically I'm mid mission and the interactions just bug out and stop working and some textures randomly go to ultra low quality, Then I press "Pause" at the end to go look into my options and its just that grey and black screen. No idea why this is happening. I am launching from the rock star launcher also.

i7 13700k
RTX 4080
32GB RAM DRR5
850w PSU
Win 10 pro

If anyone knows how to fix, it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Yeah I am getting terrible frame rates now. I cant even play it anymore.
Hey, same here, can you all share your cfg ?

All comments i see about this bug are with DDR5

I checked all this things with the Rockstar support, but it start to become useless as they don't escalate the ticket:

Delete & reinstall the game
DXDiag
MSinfo32
Launcher.log
Uninstall/Reinstall Rockstar Games Launcher
Launch everything with admin
Windows reboot with minimal setup
sfc/scannow
Vulkan to DX12
DX12 to Vulkan
Open with "-ignorePipelinecache -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -high"
msched.exe
And at the ultimate end asked me to try another savegame/newgame (i tried with a 2019 save, a new one, nothing changed)

Don't hesitate to check if there is answers here:

Even tho you can run on ultra, have you tried on low and worked your way up to see if its always or only with certain things on at certain graphics levels?

I have a 3060 and the game runs at a smooth 90 fps on ultra all tho some of the shadows are on high but still 90 fps is butter smooth all you need is a stable 60+ fps

p.s like Britney Spears diet coach on FAMILY GUY said you don't need gravy on everything.

I'm currently making a full reset & vanilla install of W11 (i was with Atlas OS custom). Last option would be to set off/lower the DLSS

Mines working alright now, What I did to fix it was Set the frame-rate to 60FPS on my LG C1 TV. I don't know if it was that that fixed it or if it was just a certain part of the story that was buggy.

Okay, quick update. I tried a lot of things which found on Reddit: swapping Vulkan to DX12 and vice versa, disabling DLSS, disabling HAGS in Win11, but what actually helped - disabling Gaming Mode in Win11 settings.
Hey,

On my side i've seen an amelioration by:
- Going in the bios and activate the Intel Rapid Storage
- Reinstall VC++ (x64)
- Unplug unecessary USB
- Pass the game in fullscreen mod & 60Hz
- Pass my desktop on 60Hz

I also got better resuld passing the game from M2 SSD Samsung Evo 900 (7000Mb/s) to a SSD Sata (3500Mb/s).

I've disabled HAGS & Gaming Mod.

Hags is in:
Parameters > System > Screen > Graphic > under "default parameter" on the top

Gaming mod is in:
Games>Games mod

Okay, I was fighting this issue for 2 days long already and tried a lot of things: disabling HAGS, gaming mode in Win11, disabling XMP, reinstalling OS entirely - nothing of these actually helped, was more like a gimmicks. But what actually helped - disabling Hyper Threading entirely for CPU. Basically, I assumming that you're using 13-14 gen of Intel because 100% of issues threads which I saw had this common detail. So, as far as Intel changed logic cores to P-cores and E-cores - this is what causing troubles, game simply don't know which cores it needs to utilize and after this you see all these troubles with textures and game soft locking itself. So, my suggestion - disable HT and give it a try. I didn't saw any changes in performance after this but game works like a charm after it.
Worth to mention that this is a relatively new issue, when I played more than half year ago - it was working great on a same config (13700KF, 2080Ti, 32GB RAM).

Hey, i got the same feedback this morning from my reseller :D
I will alert Rockstar through my ticket but they recommend to follow these steps:

https://www.radgametools.com/oodleintel.htm

On my side i made a full reinstallation, going from W11 to W10. Check for all motherboard + CPU drivers and install properly things one by ones and it worked with some graphical option OFF (Default setting + DLSS + Furr setup max was fine, maybe three tesselation made ♥♥♥♥), and got no problem, but i had some crash on Cyberpunk 2077 i'm confident it will be fixed (nope, we never know until testing haha) .

There is FSR3 and FrameGen existed for this game

The game itself is old and optimisation had been abandoned by Rockstar. But only added contends that would worsen the game. Hopeful they'll look into it and fixes it. If not and it still got issues ??? Then maybe a future mods could fixed it

Welp, for my case disabling HT was the only thing that helped. Still worth to mention that I'm not using any mods so softlocks because of AsiLoader (version.dll) wasn't an issue, it was HT.
