Hunting: prey always damaged losing stars
I’m trying to hunt Perfect animals and I understand if I shoot them with a gun that’s too powerful it damages the quality of items I get when I skin it. But I’m trying to hunt just normal whitetail deer around the camp, and every time I shoot one with a repeater in the head it ends up damaged anyway. The compendium says “use a rifle” and I thought that’s exactly what I was doing?

You did kind of answer your own question in there.
You say you are using a repeater, the compendium suggests a rifle. Repeaters and rifles are different. Get yourself a nice rifle, possibly the springfield to start out with. picking up a varmint rifle for smaller game can be good too.

I got you. It wants the exact category. In my mind, repeaters and rifles were the same thing because they’re both long barreled. I see what I got to do now. Thanks!
