lol, to be fair, playing in Public Sessions with cheaters is the only officially supported option.

You need to use a 3rd-Party Fan-Made Script to play in private sessions. o_O

It's kind of a disgrace the game doesn't support private games officially. :/

Guess Rockstar didn't want this game to succeed. :P

Fan-made? It's Rockstars own code. Overall, Private is the only true way to play.
If you want to do things that requires match-making, that can still work inside a Private Session if you get trusted folks in that session with you.

Rockstar gave up on the game after 2021-2022; it's public knowledge.

Rockstar has abandoned the game. They don't give two 💩s about the customers. This game was just a cash grab and now rockstar is full speed on GTA6. The next arena of obnoxious cheating ashholes.

I honestly hope Rockstar/Take-Two addresses the out-of-control cheating in GTA6, but I suspect we could be in for another disappointment. :(

Playing in a public forum doesn't make one dumb, there are still a lot of good players to interact with including people from other countries which can add another element. Some of them are definitely worth playing in a private lobby with, but you won't meet them if you stay in your bubble. The various cheaters suck and it means changing lobbies, but believe it or not, there are still others out there who are fun to play with.

Alternatively you could make your own private lobby that can be enjoyed by yourself or with multiple friends providing they have the same file and password. All this without issues from modders and griefers.

My friends and I have been using it for two years without a single problem.
