1. make a save when about a 10+ second ride (canter) away from spawn location
2. enter the woods at the intersection (moving west), move straight in until you get to a big tree, turn left (now south), and move about 20 ft, and then turn back towards road
panther should spawn another 30 ft to the south
3. rinse and repeat or reload, rinse and repeat
Panther does not spawn every time, or will spawn and become distracted chasing some other animal.
Another option is to use Predator Bait, but this works only 3 out of 4 times to get the Panther, so not a guarantee
Save scumming is the fastest way
...and note, that if you killed on already, you have to wait a few days for the zone to reset and a new panther to spawn (old one is dead)
The second most common panther-spawn is northeast of Lakay, Bayou Nwa, Lemoyne - in the wooded area, near where there's a particularly large tree. I've found both the 'Panther' and 'Florida Panther' there multiple times in both RD2 and RDO.
The last relatively common spawn is Stillwater Creek, west of Thieves Landing, New Austin. Unfortunately, you can't reliably access this area during RD2 until after Chapter 6.
Now, specifically in RDO, you'll likely find multiple poor 'Panther' specimens while hunting for the various legendary panthers. You'll also rarely find a Panther across Bayou Nwa, usually during a mission of some sort (possibly requiring that mission to be active) - for instance, I regularly find one at Macomb's End, but usually only when there's a bounty active in that specific area. I've also encountered one west of Hagen Orchards, likely while involved in something Moonshine-related when my shack is located near there.
okay - not sure why i only use the one in my few thousand hours - probably a reliability or ease of use choice made a few years back - thanks for the correction, although i suspect only two of the three apply for now with this 100+ hr new player
unless he's doing online mode, at which point i confess my ignorance
Thanks you but sadly I already tried all this. It does literally nothing for me.
Since its not a legendary animal it does not have a cooldown, just got to be in the right place at the right time.
sorry to hear that - have u verified your game files ? removed all mods ?
Not surprising, considering most modders can detect LA spawns across the whole map ... in-fact, just had Mud Runner stolen off me by a modder - super fun times!
You'll notice that there are no passengers and guards present in the train
