how to quit Money Lending and Other Sins 3?

I cannot abandon this mission, and started it accidently. Is there a way i can quit out of this mission? I even tried the usual abandon method but it didnt work.

i dont want to? i picked up the letter and started the mission, and i cannot abandon it.

Once you pick up the letter, you have no choice but to complete it. It is a mandatory mission and cannot be dropped or abandoned...

From Red Dead Wiki...
"When Arthur is reading a letter from Mary Linton, a cutscene may play where Strauss will tell Arthur to pay Thomas a visit, therefore triggering the mission, forcing the player to complete it as it cannot be abandoned."

Why don't you want to do the mission out of interest?

Is it's because you wanted to do something else first?

Honestly im following a guide to a T just to get 100 percent, and i didnt think the letter you pick up to start the mission would activate it when i saw it. I ended up getting out of it, but i had to kill the farm owner to get the option to abandon it.

That makes zero sense, because you can't get 100 percent without completing this mission...

I think what he meant was that he was following a guide, but he started this mission out of the "proper" order.
