Issues with Social Club
Hey you guys,

I have an issue with the social club that tries to log me in to the Social Club account that is linked with my steam account. The issue is, that account is quite old. It uses an email that no longer exists (because the email-account was deleted by the provider, T-Online). I do not recall the password for the old account and of course can't change the password of the old account.

The rockstar-support could not help me til now. They disregarded almost all of my text and tried to mail the email-adress of the old account, although I said it does no longer exist.
They are no waiting for a response from that email adress.

Does anyone know of a quick solution that would help me get into the game? I was looking forward to it...

Thanks to anyone that read this far.

Maybe it's just something today? I installed the game and booted up the launcher and it's not sending me the email verification code for my Rockstar account no matter how many times I hit "resend." Hopefully just temporary.

Hm, I got a verification code for a new account on a new email adress instantly, but that account is not linked to my steam, and Rockstar won't let me play anything if I don't log into the old account.

Hope you're getting your verification-code though.

Try starting from scratch.

Uninstall R* Launcher and R* Social Club and delete their folders found in prog files x86, prog files and your documents folder.

After that launch the game via Steam and everything you need to play the game should be freshly installed.

Have you figured it out because I have the same problem for 3 years. If you figured it out please tell me HOOWW?

Verifying the integrity of the game files solved it for me
By the way, the stupid fix for not receiving verification emails was to manually input noreply@rockstargames.com into my email provider's webmail whitelist. Like, the emails weren't even getting put into my junk email bin, they just weren't even coming through at all before doing that.

having the same kind of issue here, My rockstar account was hacked and they changed the mail. So al my progress is gone, it sucks but it's not the end of the world. however the biggest problem is that my rockstar account was linked with my steam account. so I reached out to rockstar to get rid of the link with my old account and link my steam to my new rockstar account. but no succes what so ever. Rockstar keeps asking for proof of payment and proof that I am the owner of the steam account. but when I gave them al the information and they can clearly see that I am in fact the owner, they start asking when the exact date was that my account was hacked when i first linked my account to steam, how the hell would i remeber the exact date that i did this its so long ago, so when I tell them i dont rember the exact date they just reply with, we can not verify that you are in fact the owner and they just close the ticket then, So conclusion Rockstar support is pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
stil looking for another solution tho...
but i think being hacked and no longer having acces to old email accounts wil get you in the same trouble that I am in
^ Your progress is not gone. The social club account 'links' to the steam account. Changing the email 'on' the social club account - does not 'change' the social club account. Recover your social club account by jumping through their hoops and having them change the email back/or to an email you have access to and then you lose no progress.

Depending 'when' it was 'hacked' - you may even get an email from R* - telling you of this change, and it has a link in the email to recover the account yourself (provided it hasn't expired). This email can be in another language.. .spam.. filtered... etc.

As for the date of linking - you can look at your steam purchase history, your R* games on steam, and the earliest date of achievements on them - to help narrow down to the possible day/range of dates in which your linked your accounts. Also assumes you haven't bought other R* games earlier, linked, and refunded.

Regardless, wrong answers to R* = instant trashed ticket.
Some get this fixed in hours, some.. days.. or more.

/goodluck

edit - It should also be noted that when you contact R* about a useless old email address - they will likely want to confirm you on the 'new' email address you are attempting to use to communicate, and sometimes do not directly say it. Obviously, don't be silly and use the old email address as point of contact while placing a ticket.

This is a good reply that basically sums up my experience with countless futile attempts to get Rockstar support to unlink my Steam account from the Rockstar account associated with my old email that is now dead. I have provided all documentation to prove ownership but nevertheless every ticket I create ends up getting closed after a series of hoops run by automated chatbot routine. It is incredibly frustrating to deal with and I have given up at this point and consider my RDR2 Ultimate + Max Payne 3 lost.
