Missable content and the continuation of optional questlines

Does anyone know if you miss an optional mission during a chapter if the rest of that questline becomes unavailable or you just skip that mission and in the next chapter you pick up the next part of it?

Example:

In chapter 3, If I missed Money Lending & Other Sins Part IV, would I be able to pick up the rest of the questline in chapter 4 and beyond? Or do I get completely locked out of the rest of the questline?



Reason I'm asking is because here's my situation.

I have a bad memory and have been doing my playthrough on and off for about a year or two. I told myself I would do as much of the game as I could, I didn't want to miss anything and I thoguht I missed Money Lending & Other Sins Part IV and got a bit bummed out by it but carried on with my playthrough. I literally cannot remember if I did any other part of this questline throughout chapter 4 and now I just got to chapter 6 and immediately Money Lending & Other Sins Part VI shows up. So is my memory just horrendous or can you actually skip parts of the questline and still continue later parts?

Companion missions are tied to specific chapters, while most side missions can be completed at any time. However, some have restrictions or may not appear during the Epilogue etc. It`s a mess. My advice is to just do the main mission & watch the movie without bothering with any side quest or looting. Your disappointment will be much smaller in the end, and that will come very soon. ;)

those money lending missions in chapter 2,3 and 4 are not available after chapter 5 i believe. companion missions in the camp are mostly tied to the chapter (but javier robbery is available in both chapter 2 and 3, charles hunting too i believe). But most other "normal" stranger side missions are available at any time - even in epilogue (exception is the donation thing in saint denis).
