Open World?
I finally picked this up on the sale, and I must say I'm not super impressed so far. Well, graphics aside. They're excellent of course.

Anyway, it seems you're completely railroaded through everything, and I just don't find any of your fellow outlaws or the missions so far all that interesting, mostly because you have zero agency.

I was hoping that the train robbery, which itself was entirely skippable due to being railroaded into doing it the way the game wants*, was the end of the intro, but it's just more plot railroading...

I was under the impression that this was mostly an open world game? Is that not the case? Or is this still part of an excessively long prologue?

* For example, why couldn't I tell Lenny to hang back and do a stealth approach, knocking the guards out quietly? If I tried to do any kind of stealth at all, he'd just leeroy jenkins and get shot. Thanks Lenny...

Chapter 1 is the introduction/tutorial or whatever you want to call it, it isn’t open world in this part.

Chapter 2, almost the entire world opens up and you can do mostly what you want. If you’re doing the train mission, you’re almost there. Then you can explore all you want and take the story as fast or as slow as you wish.

Okay, thanks! At least I can see the light at the end of the tunnel then. I'll keep slogging through until the world opens up.
