Game is stuttering super HARD with a good config
The game was working for me just fine before, I've tried everything for like 20 hours, contacted rockstar. I've just reset my pc and still have the same problems
I have insane stuttering every seconds with a good PC, all others games works fine for me.
look at this video and tell if you find something please. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XxR214UZ1Q

Working fine before what? What changed?

Could be an HDD/SSD I/O problem, background process/processes sucking up your resources, the graphics card is broken or just too weak; frame buffer / caching problem, or ...?

Without detailed system specs it's impossible to say with certainty.

I don’t know, but if you play the game long enough, the game just seems to run worse for seemingly no reason. Like I find myself progressively lowering a graphic spec or two every 50-100 hours trying to keep up, it doesn’t make sense but it feels that way.
Perhaps the same thing is happening to OP.
Lowering the graphics would make no sense for a problem which is occurring over time. I mean, such a problem would be a memory leak or the CPU struggling to keep up with the game world persistence somehow but a problem which increases over time seems unlikely to be related to the GPU or it's functions. Graphics problems tend to make themselves known immediately or in very short order, (due to heat) while memory or CPU issues might take time to develop.

Monitoring your system resources over time while playing would be useful for diagnostics but as with the OP, without detailed system specs, it's hard to say.

Anyhow, given how long the game has been out, I'd be inclined to say the issue is with your system. I installed to game less that 2 weeks ago, modded it like mad and it's been running flawlessly. I haven't hit the 50 or 100 hour mark, but I suspect it will be running the same then as now. We'll see, I suppose, but a quick google doesn't reveal your issue to be universal.
his thread is pointless "good config" means nothing here

I see ppl call a I7 4790 and a 1060 still running ddr3 a "good rig" all the time

Provide your specs not you tube videos just sayin
Thx for your answers guys, I have a RTX 3070, AMD Ryzen 5600X 6-Core and 2x : 8 Go DDR4 3 200 MHz CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX
I was having around 120 fps with some ultra and high graphics settings. played 5-6 hours perfectly and suddenly during a random cutscene hunting with Hosea my game stuttered like crazy, I've spend like 25 hours trying to work things out but I just can't find a solution. Every others games work just fine soo IDK.

Lower everything to High and then if it looks bad go up from there

I run it on a 2070 super
r7 5800x
32 g gskill @ 3200
game is on a ssd

I have no troubles getting 80-120 @ 1080p on high

You left out some info still tho is the game on a SSD

What resolution are you trying to run?

Also make sure you are using DLSS

I have seen threads before about running out of RAM with only 16g so make sure you have less than 20% idle usage or lower if possible

You could possibly have a bottleneck with that processor paired with that GPU I have no clue there tho
can you found solution?

I have micro stutters in single and online in the cities/

R 75800x, 64 GB RAM 3200MHZ, RTX 5070 TI

Whats wrong?
Weird since I upgraded my gpu I got stutters when using the map.
Paul, Verify game files if that don't work reinstall the game. Something isn't right. Your pc should play this game fine. Reinstall gpu drivers. Swap to Vulkan or switch to D3D. If you use Vulkan you can hit nvapp/graphics/rdr2/scroll down to Vulkan/OpenGL present method and change it to prefer layered on dxgi swapchain.

Can also hit Steam/rdr2/manage/properties/general/Launch options and add the following

--keep-vulkan-layers

You can leave the code if you swap back to d3d as it won't effect it. I use the nvapp setting and the launch command for all Vulkan games.

Ensure optimizations for windowed games is Enabled for Win 11 under graphics/rdr2 and that gpu is set to high performance.

If using Vulkan open an admin terminal and type the following

vulkaninfo --summary
Hit CR and scroll back to top. Copy paste here any warning messages as such:

For me the Galaxy ones are fine. RTSS most games require either the nvapp dxgi swapchain thing i already mentioned and some also require the launch command i mentioned. I can't recall what rdr2 required. But i do get better fps using Vulkan and it's way more stable for me.
Update your motherboard's bios. I had an issue where my AMD GPU would crash when hitting above 2650Mhz clock speed, making me believe AMD just sucks and that I should buy Nvidia next. 2 years later of enduring this problem and a simple bios update fixed everything. The game used to stutter before doing my bios update, in rdr 2, but only while playing on Direct X 12 API. In addition to this, I'm still experiencing a problem with the game. Settings presets for me change my settings to all low settings. But I just set custom settings anyway. Specs: RX 7600; 13400f; NVME gen 4 drive, Fastest SATA 3 SSD from Samsung, Adata SATA 3 SSD; Corsair RM 650W PSU; Gigabyte h760m revision 1; 16GBs of 3000MT/s (1500Mhz) DDR4.
yeah i would definuitly recommend updating your bios,i ran on an old 220xt sabertooth with a 3060 and it ran fine as i made sure to update, things can get difficult troubleshhoting the hardware with the software updates, dont give up as RDR2 will reward you once you crack your system to run it,just recently upgraded to a new PC and it runs all my games on steam very well with no issues but i had to do my homework...
