How do I fix my horse from being absolutely retarded

Every time I ride the damn horse it goes all crazy and can't even run straight.
One tiny little press of A or D makes the horse do a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 180 turn for no reason
I've tried guiding it with my mouse when riding, and I've tried using the keys to move it, but it never gets any better and I've nearly destroyed my computer in rage trying to get it to move properly.
Doing any mission that requires a horse is like being tortured.
Is there a way to fix it? Am I not doing it right? or is there a mod to improve the horse movement? I need help

The temperament of the horse makes a difference, especially if it gets tired or if it senses snakes or wolves nearby. Sometimes rough terrain causes problems. Watch your horse's health status. Brush him from time to time.

I recently acquired Buell, and by design he is a skittish horse. He throws me during most wolf attacks like he threw Hamish Sinclair, the old veteran. As much as I like Buell's speed and power, I'm thinking of going back to an earlier horse. My secondary, an Appaloosa, was much more reliable during confrontations.
